I work within GLEA as a research fellow, with a focus on global learning. My research particularly looks at decolonized teaching and learning practices and using the online space for innovative teaching and learning activities.

I am also a co-chair of the staff LGBTQ+ network and the current EDIC councilor for the sexuality sub-theme.
Something you learnt during the pandemic
A lot of my research focusses on the use of education in the online space, particularly for internationalisation activity where travel opportunity is limited. My biggest learning over the pandemic has been that we often mistakenly see the internet as an equal space, where everyone can jump online and have an equal platform. The reality for many across the globe, however, is that access to data and technology is often prohibitively expensive or difficult to work with, meaning that we must really quite carefully consider how to ensure that online teaching and learning practices can be made fairer and more equal for all.
