Who are you and what is your role in the Coventry University Group?

Am a lecturer in food science who has a passion for understanding how the exchangeability of proteins with alternative sources that are deemed to be more sustainable can impact the functional properties in food systems. Additionally, I have a strong desire to understand the significance of the gut in human health and how the gut microbiota can be modulated, and how this can have an impact on allergies and obesity later on in life. I am also interested in accessibility and widening participation.

Something else about yourself?

During my spare time, I love to spend time with my family, I listen to motivational speakers as well as I love listening to music.

Something you learnt during the pandemic or something you started (or stopped) doing that you would like to keep doing (or not doing)

During the pandemic, I learnt the art of journaling and this has really been a great way of connecting with my inner self. I also picked up running though I would need to keep doing this with the hope that one day I would be able to run a marathon 🙂
