Who are you and what is your role in the Coventry University Group?
I am currently Lecturer in Legal English – English for Specific Purposes – at the School of Business and Law. I am based at South West University of Political Science and Law in Chongqing, China since 2016. My research focuses on Politeness and Intercultural Communication; in particular face-threatening acts in requests. My research applies to modules such: linguistics and translation; first and second language acquisition; discourse analysis and language and the mind. I have a keen interest in Cooperative Online Learning (COIL).
Something else about yourself?
I have been living in Chongqing for over 4 years now. It is a constantly rewarding experience living in this enormous metropolis. I really enjoy immersing myself in within Chinese culture, tradition and gastronomy.
